Are you looking to buy an action camera? Your budget is tight, and you are confused as well. Here I am going to review SjCam Sj6 Legend. This is a camera, that might fulfill your needs. I am using this camera for the last 6 months. I bought this action camera in October 2022.

Here is unboxing experience.
Design
It has a rubberish finish on the body. That provides a better grip on the camera and is a very compact camera. Due to its compact nature, it is very suitable for moto-vlogging and anything that falls under adventure. There is a charging port, MicroSD card slot, shutter button power button & a dedicated settings button. It has a 2.2-inch LCD display on the front to access the camera and its features, it is touch-sensitive.
The touch is responsive occasionally there is some lagging. otherwise, everything is good. In front there is a small screen, that can help you monitor your camera, here you can get info like, battery time, remaining space date and time, etc…
The overall design is good and attractive. In front, there is a matt finish.
Camera
This camera has, a 16 Mp camera lens, that can shoot 4k video. It is capable of capturing video in 4K resolution at 24 frames per second (fps), 2K resolution at 30fps, and 1080p resolution at 60fps. It also has a 16-megapixel sensor for capturing still photos and features a 2-inch LCD touchscreen display for previewing and reviewing footage. The SJ6 Legend is equipped with a wide-angle lens that has a field of view of up to 166 degrees, and it also has built-in image stabilization to help keep footage steady while in motion.
That is a technical specification, now let’s talk about the real performance. I am adding some sample photos and videos, so you can get a good idea about the lens performance. The camera is good, considering the budget. Every still has a fish-eye effect.
I am satisfied with the image quality, but I want to say I don’t use SJcam Sj6 Legend for photography. In a low-light situation, this camera suffers a lot.
But the real deal is video, this is the perfect action camera for a beginner or for whom those who want to capture the moment just for their memories. This is also a good option for those who want to start their moto vlogging journey.
You can easily use this camera to share your moto vlogs on platforms like youtube. I am using this camera for moto-vlogging, the video quality is good, and image stabilization is just perfect not as good as GoPro and insta 360. Below is a video sample. you should watch the video at high resolution to get an idea of video quality.
In 4k, it will crop the video, and gyro stabilization also lacks in this resolution. I shoot on 1080P 30Fps. I am very satisfied with these settings.
Battery
SJCAM SJ6 Legend comes with a removable 1000mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. According to the Sjcam, the battery is capable of providing up to 110 minutes of continuous recording time when shooting in 1080p resolution at 30fps. However, this can vary depending on factors such as camera settings, temperature, and usage.
At 1080p 30 FPS, you can expect battery backup of up to 90-100 min, at the ideal temperature, if the temperature is low, then it will drain fast, it includes the morning environment as well. I can say this because when I was going to Birpur Nepal, it was morning time, and I was able to record only 50 min of footage. I don’t shoot in other resolutions so I cannot say anything about the battery backup in other settings. But you check amazon for more info on this.
The main issue is I am not able to find any extra battery for this SjCam Sj6 Legend. So, this might be a problem you need to charge, and then go ahead I mean you need to charge this on the go. It takes approximately 2 hours to fully charge the battery.
Connectivity
This camera offers wifi connectivity, which will help you to control the camera remotely. It helps in data transfer, so this is a handy feature. If You are going anywhere and your storage is full just connect this camera to your smartphone using the SJcam app and you can download all your data. You can also share your data with the help of a USB, it can directly connect to your PC as a storage device.
The Downside
It has cons as well. Like if you are this for general vlogging then there will be no problem, its internal mic works ok. But if you are in moto vlogging then its mic is not going to work.
You need to buy a separate mic, from SJcam designed for this camera. and the reputation is not good, of this external mic this cost around 1500. There is no other adapter available to connect the external mic. You need to record your audio separately and then sync it later.
This is the only major issue in my opinion. If you can do any jugar then go ahead and let me know as well.
